Cultural history translated into symbolic markers

The Jesuit order in Puerto Rico commissioned Jorge Rigau FAIA to design an ecological columbarium to serve as resting place for some order’s priests. In turn, we were tasked with designing the graphic identifications that would differentiate each of the different spaces where the ashes would be located.

Both in architecture and graphic design, the project’s form reacts as a contemporary interpretation of the Jesuit’s tradition of making graphic explanations through the use of concentric circles.
